  Literature being discontinued, including Isaiah's Prophecy and Reasoning book

  congregations get an annual letter that tells what can be ordered for literature (it's mainly a list of audio cds/dvds for the deaf), but this time it included publications that will be discontinued, and this included the isaiah's prophecy book and the reasoning book, and i think i saw the draw close to jehovah book.

  i meant to take a picture of the letter but forgot.

  the branch is only going to give what they have on stock, when that stock depletes that's it, you won't be able to order those publications anymore.. this is in canada so i don't know if this is worldwide..

  she wrote to me requesting the 2010 or revised 2012 elder manual in swedish language.

  Is Stefan Molyneux a dangerous cult leader

  a guy on youtube who got popular spouting ideas on social and political issues, molyneux gained additional notoriety when he started encouraging people to cut off their natural families.

  some followers took his advice seriously, and mums crying about the consequences have gone to the media to tell their story.

  it's interesting how this resembles and also differs from jw shunning.

  Can somebody explain the songs and songbook obsession?

  i've been out a while and have only put in a rare appearance at a memorial or brief visit at a convention/assembly to keep people off my back, so i haven't kept up on the songbook.

  but one thing i've noticed that the org.

  has been doing that they never did when i was in is all these "supplemental songs" that keep appearing.

  I really, really, really, really despise the new song book. The 1984 song book certainly needed to be freshen up and revised a bit. Add some songs, remove some songs, change some of the chorus, etc. But the gb came out with a completely new song book that is foreign to me even five years after its initial release in 2010. They must know it sucks because they are coming out with new songs.

  for those of you that don't research this stuff i will give a little back story.

  we all know about the moses exodus, but history and archeology didn't seem to confirm this event.

  the only exodus out of egypt ever recorded was that of a group of asiatic tribes that had taken over egypt for a bit over 100 years called the hyksos and the followers of the pharaoh akhenaten who perpetuated a monotheistic idea of worshiping only one deity the aten.

  i've been out for 30 years, but because both my mother and mother-in-law are jw's i keep up with all things jw.

  this started in the thread about what would be alternative to jw, somebody suggested the vatican is nearer the truth.. i suggested the vatican has over a million tons of gold as some claim, officially they only have, international business times.

  what we do know is that vatican bank, officially titled the institute for the works of religion, manages 5.9bn ($7.3bn, 4.64bn) of assets on behalf of its 17,400 customers.

  and it manages 700m of equity which it owns.
